SMS Consent & Opt-In Program

Effective: April 20, 2026

About this program

Program name: FileReady SMS Notifications
Operator: FileReady LLC
Support: support@fileready.app

FileReady is a business-to-business SaaS platform used by FMCSA-regulated motor carriers to manage Driver Qualification Files. We send transactional SMS messages to commercial drivers on behalf of their employers. We do not send marketing or promotional messages, and phone numbers collected for SMS are never shared, sold, or used for marketing purposes.

What messages we send

Drivers enrolled by their employer may receive SMS for any of the following purposes:

  • Secure links to upload required driver qualification documents
  • Expiration reminders for DOT medical certificates, CDLs, and MVRs
  • Compliance deadline notifications
  • Status updates on outstanding document requests

Message frequency: Varies based on the driver's compliance activity. Typically 1–4 messages per month.
Msg & data rates may apply.

How drivers opt in (Call to Action)

FileReady is not a consumer-facing service. Drivers do not sign up for SMS through a public website. Instead, consent is collected by the motor carrier during onboarding, using one of two methods.

Method 1 — Written consent form (paper or e-sign)

When a driver is hired, the motor carrier presents them with a consent form containing the following disclosure:

“By providing my mobile phone number below, I agree to receive transactional SMS messages from FileReady on behalf of my employer regarding my Driver Qualification File, including document upload requests, compliance reminders, and expiration alerts. Message frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help or STOP to opt out at any time. I have reviewed the Terms of Service and the Privacy Policy.”

The signed form is retained by the motor carrier as evidence of consent. A downloadable PDF template is available here: Download sample driver SMS consent form (PDF).

Method 2 — In-platform employer attestation

Before any driver phone number can be added to FileReady, the authorized employer user must check the following attestation in the driver-add form:

“I attest that this driver has signed a written SMS consent form authorizing FileReady to send transactional SMS messages regarding their Driver Qualification File, and that the signed consent record is retained by the employer.”

The phone number field is disabled until this box is checked. A screenshot of the in-app attestation is shown below.
